Rochester Man Accused Of Threatening To Kill Shooting Victim
Rochester, MN (KROC AM) - A Rochester man who was scheduled to stand trial last week in a 2019 shooting case is facing new charges for reportedly threatening the victim.
Police arrested 30-year-old Abdusalam Omar Hussein in November 2019 after he was accused of shooting a man in the legs several times while he was in bed.
Police say Hussein later drove to a convenience store where he threatened to shoot another man.
Hussein's trial was put on hold after he was arrested for threatening to kill the man he had shot in 2019 and the victim’s mother if they made him “go to court.” He is also accused of showing a gun in his waistband to the victim’s mother.
Police caught up with and arrested Hussein after he went to a local homeless shelter where he threatened several people. Officers found a large knife under his jeans after he was arrested.
As of Friday morning, Hussein was in custody.
