Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been charged in connection with a violent carjacking that took place in Rochester last fall.
According to a criminal complaint filed today in Olmsted County Court, Rochester police responded to a report of a vehicle theft at a residence in southeast Rochester on the night of October 7. The court document says a responding officer arrived at the scene and found a man outside with his clothing soaked in blood and bleeding from his head.
Victim Pulled From Vehicle
The criminal complaint says the victim told the officer that seconds after he pulled into his driveway, another vehicle pulled in behind him and at least two people exited and approached him. He stated that one person came to the passenger side and pointed a flashlight through the window, while a second person opened the driver’s door and pulled him out of the vehicle.

Carjackers Also Took Wallet and Phone
The victim reported that he then attempted to roll under his spouse’s vehicle, which was also parked in the driveway, but he was assaulted and robbed of his phone and wallet before his attackers drove off in his vehicle. The criminal complaint says the responding officer observed “a notable amount of blood” on the ground where the victim was pulled out of his vehicle. The officer also found a handgun magazine containing approximately a dozen unfired 9 mm bullets.
Video Evidence
According to the court document, multiple cameras were located near the crime scene and investigators obtained videos that captured portions of the carjacking and assault. The criminal complaint says the videos suggest approximately four suspects were involved and investigators were able to identify two of them.
One of the men, 18-year-old Dakaree R’Moni Johnson, was arraigned today on a charge of aiding and abetting first-degree carjacking while armed with a dangerous weapon or inflicting bodily harm. His bail has been set at $100,000.
Second Suspect
The second suspect, who has not been formally charged, was identified in the court document as 18-year-old Moses Joseph Ogak. He is currently in custody at the Olmsted County Jail.
