Rochester Man Convicted For Armed Robbery
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County jury has found a Rochester man guilty of several charges connected to an armed robbery in March.
The guilty verdict was handed down Thursday afternoon against 24-year-old Emmanuel Alfred. He was found guilty of first-degree aggravated robbery, simple robbery and a misdemeanor assault charge.
Alfred was arrested after a 23-year-old man told police he was at a social gathering in a northwest Rochester residence when an argument broke out and one of the men pointed a rifle at him. The victim says some of the others at the party then assaulted him and took his money. At the time of his arrest, police said Alfred was suspected of being the person with the gun.
His criminal history includes a 2010 attempted murder conviction for shooting another man who owed him money. Alfred, who is 16 years old at the time, was placed on probation for 20 years.
His sentencing hearing for his latest conviction will take place in late August.
