Rochester Man Crashes During High Speed Chase
Dover, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was injured Sunday night after crashing his car while being pursued by an Olmsted County deputy.
The deputy began pursuing the car after spotting the driver run a stop sign in Dover around 11 pm.
Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says the driver headed north on County Rd 10 and the deputy clocked his top speed at 89 mph at one point. Behrns says the pursuit ended several miles away when the driver crashed into a ditch at the intersection of County RD 2.
Behrns says the driver was identified as 28-year-old Timothy Sexton. A preliminary breath test at the scene indicated he had a blood/alcohol level of .13.
Behrns says Sexton complained of pain in his ribs and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Behrns says Sexton may face DUI and fleeing police charges.
