
Rochester Man Fighting for His Life Following Southern Minnesota Crash
Hayfield, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is fighting for his life following a traffic crash in Dodge County late Monday morning.

That’s according to an updated crash report released by the State Patrol Monday evening. The crash involved a semi and SUV.
First responders were dispatched to the two-vehicle collision shortly before 11 a.m. It happened at the intersection of Hwy. 56 and 750th St., which is about a mile south of the Hwy. 56 and Hwy. 30 intersection in western Hayfield.
The state crash report indicates the SUV was traveling on 750th St. and the semi was heading north on Hwy. 56 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
77-year-old Michael Anthony Scovill of Rochester has been identified as the SUV driver. He was taken from the scene to St. Mary’s Hospital with what are being described as life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver, identified as 61-year-old Donald Dean Fenske of St. Charles was also taken to St. Mary’s Hospital. He suffered what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were bucked up and alcohol was not involved in the collision, the report says. The roads were wet at the time of the collision.
The Mayo Clinic helicopter, Dodge Center Ambulance, Hayfield Fire Department and Dodge County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
