A Rochester man was transported to the hospital Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle on I-35 in Freeborn County.

The State Patrol says 29-year-old Bobby Rhodes was in the traffic lane on northbound I-35 when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a Clear Lake Iowa man around 6:20 a.m. The report on the incident does not explain why Rhodes was standing on the freeway near Clarks Grove, which is about 5 miles north of Albert Lea.

He was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Albert Lea with non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol says alcohol was not involved and the freeway was snow and ice-covered at the time.
