Rochester Man Injured After SUV Hit Tree Near Austin ID’D
Brownsdale, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has identified the Rochester man who struck a tree with the SUV he was driving Sunday morning.
The collision occurred near Austin in Mower County. It was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m.
The updated state crash report identifies the SUV driver as 58-year-old Barrie Duane Wutschke. He hit the tree after leaving the northbound lane of Hwy. 56 through Brownsdale, which is about 10 miles northeast of Austin.
Wutschke was taken to a hospital in nearby Austin with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. The report says he was buckled up and that alcohol was not involved in the single-vehicle collision.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Brownsdale Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
