Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police took a man into custody Tuesday afternoon after he jumped onto a vehicle and caused hundreds of dollars in damage.

The incident happened near Silver Lake.

The woman driving the truck told police the man was standing in the road, forcing her to stop. She says he suddenly jumped onto the hood and began pounding on it. The man then got off and walked away.

Officers found him nearby and because he was intoxicated, took him to the detox center. The man - identified as 37-year-old Andrew Swanson - is expected to face a felony damage to property charge.

The damage estimate was put at $1600.
