Rochester Man Sentenced for Convenience Store Robbery

A man charged with robbing a Rochester convenience store last October was sentenced Thursday to 33 months in prison.
41 year old Todd Mielke of Rochester pleaded guilty earlier to a simple robbery charge. Police say he robbed the Holiday store near St. Mary’s and drove off in a van that was spotted two days later at the south Walmart store by an employee of the business it had been stolen from. Investigators learned Mielke was of those who had been using the van.
Mielke was later found at what police say was a homeless camp located near the Hy Vee south store.
