
Fire Torches Garage at Rochester Home
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Firefighters spent part of their Sunday battling a garage fire.

A news release issued by the Rochester Fire Department says crews responded to the blaze shortly after 1:15 p.m.
Responding firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the attached garage’s interior. A tanker truck was called to the scene.

Fire Breaks Out Inside of Attached Garage at Rural Northwest Rochester, MN Home
The fire broke out at a home in the 650 block of Chelsea Ln. in rural northwest Rochester. Firefighters began the fire attack immediately upon arrival and prevented the flames from spreading to the home, according to the news release.
Fire crews also confirmed that all occupants and pets were outside of the structure, officials say. Firefighters then ventilated the structure once the blaze was put out.
No injuries were reported. The garage suffered an unspecified amount of damage, according to the news release.
A Rochester Fire Department Fire Marshal responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the blaze, which the fire department says is standard procedure.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the fire scene.
