Late-Night Fire Destroys Home’s Garage Near Downtown Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A late-night fire has destroyed a garage at a home near downtown Rochester.

That’s according to a news release issued Thursday morning by the Rochester Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the blaze around 11:50 Wednesday night.
Six fire engines were called to the fire scene. The first fire crews to arrive at the home reported seeing a single stall detached garage fully engulfed in flames.
The fire broke out at a home in the 200 block of 9 ½ St. Southeast. Crews extinguished the fire by forcing their way into the burning garage using hand tools.
Another set of firefighters searched the nearby home to ensure all of the residents were safe and accounted for. No injuries were reported.
Officials say the garage and its contents, which are not listed in the news release, have been deemed a total loss. The damage is estimated to be $10,000.
The Rochester Fire Department’s Fire Marshal Division responded to the scene to initiate an investigation. The cause of the destructive garage fire is undetermined as of Thursday morning.
The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene.
