Rochester Police Lt. Jennifer Hodgeman said officers responded to a weapons complaint at a residence in the 700 block of 9th Ave. Southeast around 11:30 Monday morning. A woman reported a man known to her came to the home and pointed a handgun at her and at several people in the home.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found the gun Earthman was accused of threatening the woman and the handful of occupants inside of the home with, Hodgeman said. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Earthman was booked into the jail Monday afternoon on suspicion of felony second-degree assault and felony threats

Olmsted County Court records indicate Earthman was one of three people charged for an alleged assault on a Rochester police officer last July. He was accused of striking an officer on the hand after police responded to the report of a fight involving a dozen people at the Edgewater apartments.

Court records say Earthman was also charged with two counts of felony drug possession last July after Rochester police found 19 MDA pills and 50 M30 oxycodone pills in his bedroom during a search warrant related to a shooting investigation last May.  The officer assault case is set to go to trial in November while a trial for the drug case is set for August.

Earthman posted a non-cash bond in the officer assault case last July but was arrested on a warrant in August after failing to appear at a hearing. He was then released without bail but with conditions after being apprehended on the warrant.
