
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Deploys K-9 to Capture Suspect in Rochester Motorcycle Pursuit
Deputies deployed a K-9 to aid in their search for the suspect and located the man hiding in the marshy area near FedEx and the Rochester Airport.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Law enforcement captured a motorcyclist after a pursuit in Rochester.

That's according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin, who says the pursuit happened Friday afternoon. It began in northwest Rochester and ended near the Rochester Airport.
Deputies attempted to stop the man for driving a motorcycle without a license around 12:15 p.m.

Parkin said the attempted traffic stop occurred along East Frontage Rd. and Hwy. 52/63. The suspect fled south on the freeway and law enforcement pursued.
Parkin says the suspect drove the motorcycle into a cornfield then abandoned it in a marshy area. He then fled on foot.
Deputies deployed a K-9 to aid in their search for the suspect and located the man hiding in the marshy area near FedEx and the Rochester Airport. He was taken into custody without further incident, the sheriff’s office report says.
Parkin identified the suspect as 47-year-old Mark Smith of Rochester.
Smith could face a charge of felony fleeing and also had an active arrest warrant, Parkin indicated.
