Rochester Man Wanted for Sex Assault of Homeless Woman Captured
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have captured a man suspected of committing a sexual assault in Rochester.

The warrant was filed in Olmsted County Court on Friday. Olmsted County Jail records indicate the suspect was taken into custody shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
Rochester police responded to the report of a sexual assault on Nov. 13. The victim said she was sexually assaulted on the morning of Nov. 11 in a wooded area in the 1200 block of 16th St. Southwest.
Through further investigation, police identified the alleged assailant as 41-year-old Keith Allen Butler.

The victim identified the homeless Rochester man as her attacker when she was shown a photo lineup and investigators also determined Butler was in the area of the alleged sex assault on the morning of the incident, the warrant says.
She said she had been out drinking and returned to the wooded area where she encountered Butler moments before he allegedly removed her pants and tried to touch her, according to the warrant.

The woman said she pulled away and that Butler responded by kicking her, the court document says.
The arrest warrant charges Butler felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and gross misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. His first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
