Rochester Police Investigating Altercation Involving Teens at Apartment Complex
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department is investigating an apparent alteration that occurred at an apartment complex Tuesday night.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers responded to a report of six people yelling at a vehicle in the Gates of Rochester parking lot in the 2000 block of 41st St. Northwest lot shortly after 9 p.m. He said there were also reports of three gunshots being heard and someone wielding a bat at the scene.
There was not an active fight but the individuals involved were still at the scene when officers arrived, Moilanen said. Police searched the area and did not find any empty shell casings or weapons but did locate the baseball bat.

Moilanen said officers talked with the people connected to the vehicle and other witnesses but did not get cooperation. Police then arrested a 15-year-old girl and 16-year-old girl at the scene on suspicion of obstructing the legal process.
Moilanen said one of the girls kicked an officer in the face as she was being loaded into a squad car and another girl spat in the face of an officer. He said the teens could face charges for assaulting a peace officer.
Moilanen said the majority of the people involved in the incident are under the age of 18. There were no other arrests or injuries reported.
