Rochester Police Investigating Early-Morning Stabbing
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police are investigating a stabbing that sent a man to the hospital early Friday morning.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said officers responded to the stabbing at the Parkside Mobile Home Park at 2315 Park Ln. Southeast shortly before 5:30 a.m. Responding officers encountered the victim out front of one of the units suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen.
Moilanen said the victim, described as a 32-year-old man, was drifting in and out of consciousness at the scene. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for further care, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Moilanen said the preliminary investigation indicates the victim and a 37-year-old man had gotten into an altercation inside of the unit. The 37-year-old then stabbed the victim, police say.
A woman inside of the home was also cut by the knife when she tried to intervene. Moilanen said she suffered a surface wound that did not require transportation for further care.
So far no arrests have been made. Moilanen says investigators are working to determine whether or not the stabbing was an act of self-defense.
