Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police are investigating after a handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said the stolen firearm was reported on Wednesday. The gun owner believes it was stolen sometime over the weekend.
Moilanen said a glock handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the street in the 2300 block of Park Ln. in southeast Rochester. The owner said they parked the vehicle from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 29.
Moilanen said the vehicle’s owner noticed papers inside of the vehicle had been moved around and that their gun, that was kept in the vehicle, was missing.
The complainant told police they spent the next three days searching for their firearm before reporting it missing.
Moilanen says the victim doesn't remember whether or not their vehicle was locked. So far no arrests have been made.
