Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police have released a series of photos extracted from security camera videos recorded during a recent break-in at a downtown Rochester hotel.
The images feature a group of young males suspected of being involved in the incident at the Residence Inn by Marriott in the early morning hours of April 1st. Police were called to the property at 441 West Center Street around 3 a.m. after a guest woke up around found two intruders standing over his sleeping 14-year-old daughter. The two young men fled with a backpack and a set of headphones, which they discarded when the 49-year-old Cedar Rapids man chased after them.
The morning after the crime, Police Captain Sherwin noted the security camera videos show six young men were able to enter the hotel after one of them convinced the desk clerk he was visiting a guest. Instead, the man propped open a rear entrance to the building and all six suspects were soon traveling throughout the hotel attempting to break into rooms.
The photos from the security cameras are posted on the Rochester/Olmsted County Crime Stoppers webpage with a request that anyone with information about the identities and/or whereabouts of the men to contact the Rochester Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
