Object Removed – All Clear at Rochester Police North HQ (UPDATED)
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The St. Paul bomb squad was summoned to Rochester today to deal with a potential threat at the Rochester Police Department North Precinct Headquarters.
The facility near the Watson Sports Complex was evacuated and some adjacent roads were closed after a citizen arrived around 10 AM with a suspicious object they had found while doing some cleaning. The bomb squad came to the scene at about 12:30 PM, and after conducting tests at the site, decided to transport the object to a facility in the Twin Cities for further study.
At this point, officials have not said if it was an actual explosive device.

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – The Rochester Police Department’s North Station was evacuated Tuesday morning - after a person brought a suspected explosive device to the site.
RPD says the person brought the device to the station around 10:00 AM and after it was determined it was suspicious, the building was evacuated.
According to the RPD Facebook site, “ We are asking the public to stay out of the area until the all clear is given.”
RPD also announced several roads have been closed as a precaution.
A Twin Cities bomb squad was expected to arrive around 1:00 PM to deal with the device.
The following roads are closed as of noon Tuesday:
- 41 Street NW at the entrance to Essex Park Apartments to West River Parkway NW.
- West River Parkway between Essex Parkway NW and 38th Street NW.
