Rochester Public School Enrollment Slightly Lower Than Expected
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester School Board will be presented with the school district’s official 2016 fall enrollment report on Tuesday.
It shows total enrollment, as of October 1st, was slightly less than projected at 17,646. The headcount was up 201 when compared to the October 1st, 2015 enrollment total and is slightly above the estimated tally on the first day of the new school year last month. The most recent district enrollment projection predicted the student headcount would grow by about 230 students this fall.
The figure is reported to the Minnesota Department of Education and used to calculate how much state funding the school district will receive this school year based on a per-pupil formula.
