Rochester Sends Heartfelt Message of “Thanks” to Staff at Mayo Clinic (Video)
In a blink of an eye, our world has changed. Just a few weeks ago, I was writing about Rochester businesses that were opening up and others that made the list of top places to visit in 2020. Now, you can't even go inside those businesses due to the stay at home request for all Minnesotans. The coronavirus has changed our day-to-day life dramatically. We've got a lot of negative news circling us but here's a bit of positive news that will fill your heart up...and may require a Kleenex or two.
Just this morning I got this note from a dad whose daughter is one of the many on the frontlines at Mayo Clinic. I've left their names out but his words are below:
"She works at mayo as someone who takes blood from someone and she never hesitated on going to work everyday since this virus started. We found out last night that she needs to be quarantined for 2 weeks starting today because she was around someone that has the virus. People really need to know how brave and how unselfish people like my daughter are at times like this. I am so proud of her."
Every day, people in Rochester and all over our nation are brave as they go to work to be on the frontlines for us all. I know I'm truly thankful to those in my family that are essential. My daughter comes home each day from work talking about what her job was like, how sometimes people are just cranky with her, but she knows that if she doesn't go to work, there is one less person helping make sure that we have the items that we need each day.
A display of gratitude happened in Rochester on Tuesday, and it was caught on camera by Sarah Klein Satterblom. She wrote the following on her Facebook page,
Happened upon this show of appreciation and solidarity...... thank you medical and hospital personnel, thank you first responders, thank you all the other essentials (post office, grocery workers, truckers, cleaning staff, gas station workers, etc etc) and thank you Mayo Clinic for all you serve and how you keep striving for excellence and leading for new answers/solutions!
Take a second today to watch the video below and to take a moment to say "thanks" to those on the frontlines at Mayo Clinic and Olmsted Medical Center. Send that note to me on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram and I'll pass it along for you!
