Rochester woman critical after crashing moped

A Rochester woman was listed in critical condition at St. Mary’s this morning after suffering serious head and leg injuries yesterday in a traffic wreck near the Edison Building.

The Police Department says 50 year old Amy Armstrong was driving a moped on 6th street southwest around 1:45 when she crashed into the side of a car that pulled out from a stop sign at the 6th avenue intersection.  Armstrong was not wearing a helmet. Police also suspect she had been drinking.   The 86 year old driver of the car was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
