Semi Rolls Over at Southeast Minnesota Intersection, Driver Hospitalized
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- The driver of a semi-truck was taken to a hospital after his rig was involved in a rollover crash in southeast Minnesota Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol responded to the crash at an intersection near the Mississippi River. It happened around 8:15 a.m.
The state crash report says the semi was attempting to turn onto Hwy. 61 from eastbound Winona County Rd. 3. The truck crossed the four-lane then rolled before coming to rest on railroad tracks between the highway and the river.
The truck driver, identified as 41-year-old Joseph Scott Biagioli of Des Moines, IA, was taken to a La Crosse Hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
He was buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the rollover, the report says. Hwy. 61 and County Rd. 3 were dry at the time of the rollover.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Winona Fire Department and Winona Area Ambulance also responded to the rollover crash.
