Semi Tips Over on Southern Minnesota Exit Ramp, Driver Hospitalized
Hayward, MN (KROC-AM News)- A truck driver was hospitalized after his semi tipped over on an exit ramp in southern Minnesota.
The State Patrol responded to the traffic incident around 11:40 p.m. Monday.
The semi tipped over after the truck driver lost control of the large vehicle as it was navigating the slick ramp during a snowfall.
The state crash report says the semi truck was exiting eastbound I-90 at Freeborn County Rd. 46 near Hayward, which is about 10 miles east of Albert Lea.
The truck driver is identified as 28-year-old Ivaylo Hristov Balabanov of Arlington, IL. He was taken to the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Albert Lea with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
He was buckled up and alcohol was not involved, the report says. The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
