Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It will become very apparent Monday that the road construction season is underway in southeastern Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin work on a half-dozen major projects in southeastern Minnesota, including repaving Highway 52 from Marion through Chatfield. The project will require two detours. The first will go into effect tomorrow and will route traffic off Highway 52 onto Olmsted County Road 10 to I-90 for about 10 days. Another detour is scheduled to start in mid-June.

Crews are also scheduled to begin a repaving project on I-90 in the Albert Lea area on Monday along with two sections of Highway 61. The first runs from Kellogg to Lake City and the other involves the section of the freeway between Homer and I-90 north of La Crescent. MnDOT is also ready to repave Highway 16 from Dexter to Spring Valley, which will require a couple significant detours over the next several months.
