Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - What began as a shooting incident near Zumbrota Sunday night ended with a police chase in Rochester.

Goodhue County deputies were sent to check a report of an argument and a shot fired and a truck was spotted leaving the scene. They gave chase but lost sight of the truck. It was later found crashed in the Pine Island area. That’s when the deputies were told a car had just been stolen from a nearby residence.

Because the stolen vehicle had OnStar service, it was learned the car had been driven to Rochester. It was spotted by police but after a short chase, the pursuit was ended. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned at the intersection of 5th Ave and 21st St SW.

Meanwhile, Goodhue County deputies were able to locate the person who had fired the gun and he was apprehended.

No one was shot during the incident.
