Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Strong southwest winds with gusts well over 30 miles per hour are creating some very slick conditions and parts of southeastern Minnesota today.

The wind is blowing snow across roads throughout the region and contributing to numerous vehicle spin outs and crashes. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is currently describing most highways in southeastern Minnesota as partially snow and ice-covered but there are a few highways south of Rochester that are now completely covered by snow and ice.

Forecasters are predicting the winds will die down by tonight.
