Smoke From Canadian Fires Entering Minnesota
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air pollution health advisory for northeastern Minnesota. Officials say the advisory, which will be in effect until 10 PM Saturday night is due to the plume of smoke from the massive fires that are burning in Canada.
As of Friday afternoon, observers were noting reduced visibility because of the smoke in International Falls. Forecasters expect the smoke plume will continue to move south-southeast across the Arrowhead region and the North Shore of Lake Superior, resulting in fine particulate pollution considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
