It was another busy night of high school football across southeast Minnesota Friday night with some games going down to the wire. Below is our Week 4 recap of area high school football scores and highlights.

#1 Chatfield Takes Down Lewiston-Altura 60-6

FUN 104 was in Chatfield last night as the Gophers hosted the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals. The Gophers got on the board quickly with a touchdown run by Jackson Schild. From there, the Gophers' offense really started firing on all cylinders en route to the win. Schild and Sam Backer ran for two touchdowns, Park Delany threw for two scores, one to Drew O'Conner and one to Cole Johnson as the Gophers got the win.

Kaige Koetter scored on a pick-6 for Lewiston-Altura in the second quarter. He read a swing pass to the outside, jumped the route, and scored on a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Gophers (4-0) are ranked #1 in Class AA and take on LaCrescent-Hokah (2-2) on the road next week for a Thursday night showdown. The Cardinals (0-4) will battle Dover-Eyota (2-2) at home next Friday.

#2 Lanesboro Scores Late To Top Houston 32-26

The Burros trailed the Houston Hurricanes 26-8 in the third quarter but were able to come back and score late to secure the win on Homecoming for Lanesboro.

The Hurricanes' defense was able to hold down the Burros' offense through the first half, but the Burros were able to take advantage of a turnover to swing the momentum in their favor.

The Burros (4-0) are ranked #2 in the state for 9-Man football and will host Kingsland (2-2) next Friday night. Houston (0-4) will battle Lyle-Pacelli (2-2) in Lyle next Friday.

Rochester Lourdes Wins Thriller over LaCrescent-Hokah 41-36

Rochester Lourdes went on the road and jumped out to a 35-0 lead over the Lancers in LaCrescent Friday night, but the Lancers came roaring back. LaCrescent found the endzone before the half to make it 35-6. The Lancers then scored 36 unanswered points to take a 36-35 lead with 6:39 to play in the game.

The Lourdes Eagles then scored on a 60-yard touchdown run to retake the lead at 41-36 and hold on to win the drama-filled contest.

The Eagles moved to 3-1 with the win while the Lancers fell to 2-2. Rochester Lourdes will take on Class AAA #1 ranked Cannon Falls (4-0) next week at home, while LaCrescent will host Class AA #1 ranked Chatfield (4-0) in a Thursday night showdown.

Late Safety Gives Mabel-Canton 30-28 Win Over Kingsland

The Kingsland Knights took a 16-6 lead into the half against the Mabel-Canton Cougars, but the Cougars were able to find the run game in the second half to get back in the game and eventually have the game tied at 28.

Late the in the fourth quarter and backed up near the own endzone, Kingsland had a bad snap that went into the endzone, and the Cougars were able to get a safety to take a 30-28 win.

Mabel-Canton (3-1) will host Madeila this week on Homecoming at Mabel-Canton in a Saturday afternoon kickoff. Kingsland (2-2) will take on #2 ranked Lanesboro next week.

#3 Stewartville Beats Byron 44-0

In a rematch for last year's Section 1AAAA semifinal (which the Bears won in OT), the Tigers were able to score early en route to the shutout win in Friday night's game. The Tigers have been impressive through the first half of the season, outscoring opponents 212-10 so far this season.

The Bears fell to 2-2 with the loss to Stewartville and will travel to Mankato to take on Mankato East (1-3) next week. Stewartville will host Red Wing (1-3) next Friday night.

Dover-Eyota Tops St. Charles 40-13

The Dover-Eyota Eagles picked up the win to move to 2-2 on the season on Homecoming. The Eagles will be on the road taking on the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals (0-4) in Week 5 action. St. Charles (1-3) will host Triton (1-2) next Friday. The Cobras take on Caledonia Saturday night in Dodge Center in their Week 4 contest.

Goodhue Takes Down Zumbrota-Mazeppa 31-8

Goodhue (3-1) has won its third straight game following the win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa. The Wildcats lone loss was to Cannon Falls (#1 in Class AAA)  to open the season. Goodhue takes on Caledonia on the road next Friday. The Cougars fell to 0-4 with the loss and battle Pine Island on the road next week.

#1 Cannon Falls Tops Lake City 58-19

The #1 ranked Bombers held Lake City's offense in check in the 58-19 victory. The Bombers remain undefeated (4-0) and battle Rochester Lourdes (3-1) in Rochester next Friday. Lake City will host Plainview-Elgin-Millville (3-1) next week.

#7 Plainview-Elgin-Millville Takes Down Pine Island 32-13

The #7 ranked Bulldogs (3-1) were able to secure the win over the Panthers in Week 4. A strong showing for the Bulldogs whose lone loss came against Cannon Falls in Week 2. PEM will try to win its third straight game at Lake City next week. Pine Island (0-4) will host Zumbrota-Mazeppa next week.

Kasson-Mantorville Tops Albert Lea 46-0

It was Homecoming at Kasson-Mantorville as the KoMets (3-1) took a 19-0 lead into the half. Eventually, the KoMets got the win over Albert lea (0-4). Kasson-Mantorville's lone loss of the season was to a tough Byron team in Week 1, but they have won three straight. K-M will look to make it four in a row at Faribault (2-2) next Friday. Albert Lea (0-4) will host Winona (3-1) next Saturday afternoon.

Faribault Downs Red Wing 33-14

The Faribault Falcons (2-2) were able to secure a win in Week 4 over the Red Wing (1-3) on Friday night. The Falcons will host Kasson-Mantorville next week for the Falcons' Homecoming while Red Wing will head to Stewartville to face the #4 ranked Tigers on Stewartville's Homecoming.

Winona Beats Mankato East 24-0

The Winona Winhawks (3-1) with their second shutout of the season took down Mankato East (1-3) Friday night. Winona will look to make it three straight wins as they travel to Alberta Lea (0-4) next Saturday afternoon. Mankato East will host Byron (2-2) next Friday night.

Lyle-Pacelli Beats Southland 38-16

Lyle-Pacelli moved to 2-2 on the season with a win over the Southland Rebels in Week 4. Southland fell to 0-4 will the loss. The Rebels will take on Spring Grove (4-0) in Adams next week while L-P will host Houston (0-4).

LeRoy-Ostrander Falls to Mountain Lake Area 45-8

The LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals fell to 1-3 on the season after a tough loss to Mountain Lake Friday night. The Cardinals will host Grand Meadow (2-1) next Friday night and we will have the action on FUN 104. Mountain Lake Area moved to 2-2 on the season.

Owatonna Tops Austin 34-7

Owatonna moved to 2-2 with the victory over Austin. The Packers fell to 1-3 with the loss. Owatonna will host Northfield next week while Austin will travel to Rochester to take on Century.
