Southeast Minnesota Home Lost to Fire
Wykoff, MN (KROC-AM News)- Multiple southeast Minnesota fire agencies fought a house fire in Wykoff Monday afternoon.
The Wykoff Volunteer Fire Department says firefighters called Spring Valley Fire for mutual aid upon arrival as they saw the flames spread to the home’s roof. Stewartville Fire and Rescue says their crews responded to the blaze with a ladder truck to provide aerial assistance around 2:30 p.m.
Firefighters from Chatfield and Fountain also responded to provide more water in the firefighting effort. Firefighters said the blaze was difficult to battle as the flames spread into the home’s walls.
No injuries were reported and the house is deemed a total loss, according to a City of Wykoff official. Firefighters began overhauling the home to ensure the fire was out.
An official cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Hwy. 80 through Wykoff was temporarily closed while crews fought the fire.
