Southeast Minnesota Teen Killed in Crash

Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - A single vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Owatonna claimed the life of a teenager.

The Owatonna Police Department is reporting that officers responded to a crash in the 2400 block of 3rd Avenue Northeast shortly after 4:30 PM. They found that a vehicle had smashed into a tree.

The lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 19-year-old Yusuf Ali of Owatonna.

A news release indicates "speeding and impairment appeared to be contributing factors in the crash." The incident remains under investigation.

The Minnesota State Patrol, the Owatonna Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted Owatonna police at the scene of the crash.
