Southeast Minnesota Woman, 2 Kids Hurt After Jeep Hits Tree
Houston, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash in Winona County sent a woman and two young children to the hospital early Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol responded to the single-vehicle crash shortly before 12:30 a.m. It happened along Hwy. 76 about 10 miles east of Rushford.
The state crash report says a Jeep was traveling south on the two-lane highway when it left the road and struck a tree at the intersection of Cone Dale Dr. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Tia Marie Christenson of Rushford, was taken to a nearby hospital with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
A 3-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl riding in the vehicle were also hurt. They were taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the report says. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Houston Fire Department also responded to the Jeep-tree collision.
