Rochester Man Charged in Attempted Murder Case Apprehended
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says a Rochester man charged in an attempted murder case has been apprehended.
An arrest warrant was issued earlier this month for 32-year-old Antoine Goodman in connection to a shooting that occurred two years ago. The warrant was issued after Goodman failed to appear at a June 8 court hearing.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says Goodman was apprehended in another county last week. He has yet to be brought back to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center in Rochester, according to jail records, and his next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
Goodman was being held on $100,000 conditional bail following his arrest, but that was modified last June and he was released from custody on conditions with no bail. The Farmington man is charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and illegal possession of a firearm.
Court documents say Goodman and another man were accused of firing a dozen shots into an occupied room at the Motel 6 in northwest Rochester on July 17, 2021. The police report on the incident indicated a woman in the room was shot in the back.
The second man charged in the case, 33-year-old Tiron Brown, is scheduled to be sentenced on August 14 after he entered into a plea agreement earlier this month that resulted in an Alford plea to a felony count of threats of violence. The plea means he does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to find him guilty.
