Southern MN Man Faces 15-Year Prison Minimum For Child Porn
Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - A southern Minnesota man now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty yesterday to a federal child sexual abuse material charge.
Federal charge carries 15-year minimum sentence
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota, 39-year-old Alex James Wall of Mankato has admitted to one count of receiving child pornography. He was accused of attempting to coerce and entice a juvenile girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce child sexual abuse materials.

Victim Was Juvenile Girl
Court documents identified the victim as a 14 to 15 year old girl and states that the crimes occurred between April 2023 and March 2025.
Wall previously convicted in Minnesota sex case
Minnesota court records indicate that Wall was convicted of a third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in 2022. He was sentenced to 15 years of probation and was required to register as a predatory offender. In that case, he was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Texas man sentenced in separate Minnesota case
Federal prosecutors say another man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for the production and attempted production of child sexual abuse material. A news release says 52-year-old Michael Salas of San Antonio, Texas, pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court in Minnesota in February.

Social Media Blackmail
Court documents say an investigation by the FBI, along with the New Hope and Plymouth police departments, determined that an 11-year-old Minnesota girl had been blackmailed over social media into sending sexually explicit photos and videos of herself to Salas in March of last year.
