
Mayo Clinic Operating Income Tops $500 Million in Q2 2026
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Mayo Clinic saw its net operating income exceed $500 million in the second quarter of this year.

According to a required federal filing with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, Mayo Clinic's operating income from April through the end of June was up more than $100 million compared with both the first quarter of this year and the second quarter of last year. The Rochester-based health care provider also reported non-operating income of more than $1 billion for the second quarter of 2026 due to returns on its investments.

Quarterly revenue reaches $5.85 billion
Mayo Clinic had more than $5.85 billion in revenue for the three months that ended June 30. That represents an increase of more than $500 million, or about 9.5%, from the second quarter of 2025. More than $4.9 billion of that revenue came from providing medical services.

Supply and service expenses climb 13.5%
The filing indicates Mayo Clinic's expenses were up approximately 8.1% compared with the second quarter of last year, reaching $5.35 billion. Mayo's costs for salaries and benefits rose 4.5% from last year to just over $2.9 billion, while expenses for supplies and services climbed more than 13.5% and totaled almost $2.1 billion.

Mayo revenue tops $11.3 billion through June
Through the first six months of this year, Mayo Clinic's net operating income totaled just under $900 million, which is up nearly 20% compared with the first half of 2025. Mayo reported that its operating revenue was up 8.6% from last year and totaled more than $11.3 billion, while operating expenses in the first six months of the year increased 8% to $10.4 billion.
The unaudited report was filed with the online Electronic Municipal Market Access site, a service of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board. The report is required because of municipal bonds sold by Mayo to finance various economic development projects.
