
Rochester Man Accused of Ramming Squad Cars, Colliding With Apartment Building
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man with a lengthy criminal history is facing new charges that stem from a ramming incident.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when Rochester police were preparing to execute a search warrant.
Rochester Man Accused of Ramming Squads and Colliding With Apartment During Search Warrant Execution
30-year-old Cody Allen Ambrose is charged with two counts of first-degree property damage and a count of fifth-degree drug possession.
Rochester police were serving a search warrant for Ambrose’s person and a residence in the 200 block of Elton Hills Dr. NW. Police found him driving and followed him to the area of the home.
A detective pulled up next to Ambrose window-to-window and displayed his badge. Ambrose took off and struck a law enforcement vehicle, the charges say.
He then struck a second law enforcement vehicle before colliding with an apartment building, according to the complaint. Damages are estimated to be over $1,000.

Authorities pulled out their firearms and ordered Ambrose out of the vehicle. He did not comply and was seen swallowing something, the charges say.

Law enforcement eventually removed him from the vehicle. He had stated that he swallowed candy, the complaint says.
Drugs Found During Search
Detectives executed the warrant and found a Buprenorphine pill and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine, the charges say.
Ambrose has a criminal history that dates back to 2014 and includes convictions for felony fleeing, stalking, drug possession and burglary, court records indicate.
Ambrose posted bond on Friday and is due back in court next month.
