St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The fatal shooting of a Good Samaritan was among the three murders that occurred in Minnesota’s second-largest city over a span of just 9 hours yesterday and early this morning.

St. Paul Police say the Good Samaritan was shot and killed around 10 PM when he ventured outside, apparently to offer assistance to a motorist involved in a crash on the street running past his home. Officials reported the killer, who opened fire from inside his vehicle, was arrested at the scene.

The first homicide occurred at about 4:30 in the afternoon when an 18-year-old man was gunned down while walking along a sidewalk in front of a small shop. Investigators say it appears the shooter opened fire from across the street.

The other murder, which was St. Paul’s 19th homicide this year, was reported around 12:15 this morning when a private vehicle carrying two gunshot victims arrived at Regions Hospital. One man was pronounced dead on arrival, while the other man is recovering. Police say they were hit by bullets fired from another vehicle at a nearby intersection. There have not been any arrests for the murder of the teenager or the early morning drive-by shooting.
