
Update: Rochester Stabbing Sent Two People to the Hospital
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- New information has emerged regarding a stabbing that occurred at a Rochester day shelter Wednesday.

The new details were revealed in a criminal complaint that was filed in Olmsted County Court Thursday morning.
It began as an altercation outside of the building that escalated to a stabbing, the court document says.
Assault Charges: Two Men Cut by Knife-Wielding Suspect During Rochester, MN Stabbing
Rochester police responded to the stabbing at the Landing at 426 3rd Ave. southeast shortly before 4:15 p.m.
Responding officers encountered the victim with visible stab wounds and learned the man was stabbed by a person identified as 52-year-old Ricardo Elizondo Jr. of Rochester, the complaint says.
The victim said Elizondo Jr. shoved him and spat at him. He told officers he responded by punching Elizondo Jr. Security camera footage shows Elizondo Jr. stabbing the victim in the upper left back asd the victim ran away, the charges say.
Staff separated the two and took the knife from Elizondo Jr. until officers arrived, according to the complaint.
A second man at the scene was also cut on his arm. He told officers that Elizondo Jr. slashed him as he was trying to break up the altercation, the complaint says.
Both men were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. The court document says the man who was stabbed in the back also suffered a superficial wound to his neck and would require stitches.
Elizondo Jr. is charged with two counts of second-degree assault. He was released without bail following his first court appearance Thursday morning and is due back in court in June.
