State Patrol – Minnesota Motorist Killed After Stopping on I-90
Worthington, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol has identified the victim of a deadly traffic crash on I-90.
The preliminary State Patrol report on the crash indicates the crash occurred when an eastbound SUV stopped on the freeway and was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The incident was reported just before 1:15 PM Friday at the Highway 60 interchange on the eastern edge of Worthington in southwestern Minnesota.
The State Patrol identified the victim of the crash as the driver of the SUV that stopped in the traffic lane. 75-year-old Christie Eichner was from Worthington and died after she was transported to the Worthington hospital.
A 45-year-old woman from South Dakota was driving the pickup. She had two passengers, an 11-year-old and a 15-year-old girl. They were not hurt in the crash.
The Worthington Fire Department and Sanford Worthington Ambulance also responded to the scene.
