Statewide Alert Canceled After Missing Minnesota Man is Found Dead
Update: The BCA said Sunday evening the alert has been canceled after 40-year-old John Derrick was found deceased.
Previous Story: Jacobson, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have issued a statewide alert for a missing Minnesota man.
The Minnesota BCA issued the alert on Saturday. He was last seen on Friday.
The alert identifies the missing man as 40-year-old John Derrick. The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office says he was spotted leaving his residence in Jacobson, MN, which is about 20 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.
Derrick is described as white, 6’2”, 190 pounds with a bald head and blue eyes. He was wearing camouflage overalls, non-insulated rubber boots and a baseball cap during his last sighting.
Authorities say Derrick does not have his phone with him. A suspected direction of travel and description of a vehicle or mode of transportation are not available.
Anyone who may have seen or know the whereabouts of Derrick is asked to contact the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office at 218-326-3477.
Officials say anyone who may see Derrick should not attempt to make contact with him and call the sheriff’s office directly.
