Statewide Alert Issued for Missing Minnesota Woman
Northome, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota BCA has issued a statewide missing person alert for a woman who has not been seen for over a month.
The alert was issued Wednesday on behalf of the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the woman is believed to be traveling with a man and have a photo of the man’s vehicle.
The alert identifies the missing woman as 45-year-old Eleanore “Ellie” Halverson. Officials say she was last seen in the small town of Northome, MN, which is about 45 miles northeast of Bemidji.
The man she is believed to be traveling with and was seen with last month is identified as Gene “Geno” Carter. The two were spotted in a brown early 2000 model Toyota Camry with an unknown license plate.
Law enforcement says she’s believed to have left a residence in rural Itasca County. Her direction of travel is unknown.
Halverson is described as white, 5’04”, 110 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She also has a pierced nose and ears, a butterfly tattoo between her shoulder blades, and a tattoo that reads “freedom is dirty” on her left arm.
Anyone who may have seen Halverson or has knowledge regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office at 218-326-3477.
