Stewartville Man Gets Prison After Multiple Probation Violations
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Stewartville man has been ordered to serve the prison sentence that has been waiting for him since he admitted to a child sex abuse charge several years ago.
28-year-old Majed Ijong was given the three-year prison term on Tuesday as punishment for his most recent probation violation stemming from his conviction on a second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in 2018. Under the terms of the plea agreement, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and another second-degree charge were dismissed.
Ijong was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl while he was living with the victim's mother. Court records indicate investigators became aware of the alleged abuse in the fall of 2017, but Ijong had already left Minnesota. He was later traced to Las Vegas and was eventually apprehended in California. Investigators stated, that while he was in Nevada, Ijong was in the company of the victim’s mother.
Since he was originally given the stayed prison sentence and was placed on probation in December 2018, Ijong has seen his sentencing order amended a dozen times for various probation violations beginning in February 2019.
