Stewartville Toddler Who Nearly Drowned Showing More Improvement
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -There is more positive news to report concerning the Stewartville toddler who was found in a retention pond last week.
The 18-month-old boy was being watched outside his home by a family friend when he wandered off. He was found in the pond and his father and neighbors performed CPR until paramedics arrived. It's believed he was in the water for about 5 minutes.
The boy was placed in a medically induced coma.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns said Monday morning the toddler’s family is now reporting he has been removed from life support machines and his organs continue to improve and there is apparently no sign of brain swelling.
Behrns says it appears the boy is “improving very well.”
