The crash occurred in the 2400 block of County Rd. 10 Northeast, which is just over five miles north of Dover.
Parkin said deputies conducted what he described as an extensive search of the area and could not find anyone.
Around 3:00 Friday morning, dispatch took a report from a 911 caller who stated she had been in an accident and had just woken up in a cornfield.
Parkin said the woman’s call came from the same area as the crash. Deputies returned to the scene and found the woman, identified as 26-year-old Kelly Mehrkens.
While speaking with Mehrkens, deputies suspected her of being under the influence of alcohol, Parkin said. Mehrkens was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DWI and transported to the Olmsted County Jail.
Deputies also found nine grams of a suspected amphetamine on Mehrkens while searching her, according to the report. Parkin says she could face two third-degree DWI counts and a felony drug possession charge.
