Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  A series of strong storm cells that blew across southeastern Minnesota Monday morning produced heavy rain, damaging winds, hail and lightning.

The National Weather Service reports the heaviest rain fell in Mower County with more than 3 inches in the Austin area. That left a section of I-90 and several streets in Austin flooded for awhile.

Downed trees and powerlines were reported in Albert Lea and other areas. Winds were clocked at 50 - 70 miles per hour as the system moved rapidly into southwest Wisconsin and northeast Iowa where it caused more damage.

Rainfall totals in Olmsted County were generally around half an inch. The Rochester airport recorded around 7 tenths of an inch.
