MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Firefighters are batting a fire at a St. Cloud school and investigating whether lighting was the cause.

The St. Cloud Times reports the fire was reported around 11:40 p.m. Saturday at the Roosevelt Early Childhood Center. No injuries have been reported, but firefighters are having trouble reaching the fire, which is burning between a rubber roof and the ceiling.

Xcel Energy reports that 17,000 customers remained without power as of 6 a.m. Another 76,000 had lost power buthad it restored.

KELO-TV reports the water is going down in southwestern Minnesota, where officials closed all four lanes of Interstate 90 from Luverne to the South Dakota border. Heavy rain washed away the spillway at Blue Mounds State Park, north of Luverne. The dam holds back water for a swimming pond.

The storm system delivered 1.4 inches of rain to the Rochester Airport.  .55 inches was recorded on Saturday and another .85 inches fell early Sunday morning. It was the city's first significant rain since June 1st when .87 inches was recorded at the Rochester Airport.

The storm also produced gusty winds that downed a number of trees in Winona Saturday evening.
