
21-Year-Old Driver Injured After Hitting Deer on Hwy. 61 Near Winona
Minnesota City, MN (KROC-AM News)- A young woman was brought to a hospital after striking a deer in southeast Minnesota.

The State Patrol responded to the vehicle-animal collision shortly before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The incident happened in Winona County and the driver was the only person involved.

21-Year-Old Wisconsin Woman Injured After SUV-Deer Collision on Hwy. 61 in Minnesota City
An SUV traveling north on Hwy. 61 struck the deer at the intersection with County Rd. 23 in Minnesota City, the state crash report says.
21-year-old Mattie Jean Gilbertson of Holeman, WI was identified as the driver. She was taken to the hospital in Winona with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.
Gilbertson was buckled up and not under the influence of alcohol, according to the state crash report.

Winona Area Ambulance, the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, the Goodview Police Department and the Winona Fire Department also responded to the collision.
