Tax Financing and Gun Clubs Among the Topics This Morning
It looks like the planned Miracle Mile redevelopment project is a go. However, the Rochester City Council declined a request for more Tax Increment Financing money, going instead with the $2.9-million instead of the $3.4-million the developer had asked for.
City Council president Randy Staver was on Rochester’s Good Morning today talking about the project, among other things.
Some listeners question the perceived overuse of Tax Increment Financing, feeling the city is just giving money away.
Randy explained how the tax increment financing money works.
One of the other topics discussed was gun clubs. There’s nothing official yet, but there’s talk about an indoor gun club being proposed for southwest Rochester.
If that happens, the city realized it needs to clarify the wording on the current ordinance.
They’ll take care of that at a later meeting.
