He learned his fate in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday. The criminal complaints against him were filed between late December of last year and March.

In May, 23-year-old Leonton Marshawn Troy entered a plea agreement to settle the five cases.

Rochester Man Sentenced for Burglary, Drugs, Threats & Harassment Convictions

He admitted to a second-degree burglary charge in exchange for the dismissal of a first-degree charge to settle a case in which he was accused of breaking into an apartment in northwest Rochester and stealing a 9 mm pistol, some prescription pills, and $40 cash.

Troy was also charged with first-degree burglary in late March in connection with an incident that occurred last August in which he was accused of breaking into the home of an ex-girlfriend’s mother before pouring chocolate syrup into the gas tank of the ex-girlfriend’s vehicle.

He pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor harassment charge to settle that case. Two of the other criminal cases against Troy stemmed from incidents last December.

In one of them, he entered a guilty plea to a felony terroristic threats charge for allegedly sending a text message threatening to shoot a woman.

He was also charged with a drug offense that resulted in a guilty plea to a first-degree drug possession charge. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a first-degree drug sales charge and to gross misdemeanor weapons-related offenses.

The May plea agreement also covered an incident that occurred in early February that resulted in felony counts of domestic assault and witness tampering, along with a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

In that case, he admitted to the misdemeanor charge in exchange for the dismissal of the felony counts.

Troy was given a five-year stayed prison sentence and five years probation for the five convictions. His request for a downward sentencing departure was granted after he was determined to be amenable to probation.
