Scheels in Rochester Welcomes A Colorful (And Tasty) New Addition

I love it when new things start popping up around the Med City.  I heard that a certain business in Rochester was switching things up with a mini-remodel, so during a break today I escaped the studio to investigate.  If you haven't checked out the updates at Scheels yet...let's just say that I may have found the sweetest new section yet.  I even snapped a few pics while I was there - you can see those below.

Scheels Is Remodeling in Rochester - Here's What They Are Adding to Their Store

Rochester has been very busy lately with new things to check out.  A few weeks ago, I was doing a bit of taste testing at the new restaurant, Ollin Cocina & Tequila, and fell in love with their churros.  New tattoo parlors, new bar on Broadway, new businesses...our team has all of the local Rochester news for you for free.  AND, if you listen to me on the radio, you'll hear about all of it too.

My adventure today led me to Scheels at the Apache Mall because on January 13th, they posted the following tease for their fans on social media:

Something BIG is happening at Rochester SCHEELS…

Because I am a huge Scheels fan and have visited several of their locations, I had a feeling that I knew what the big addition was all about.  After my check-in at the Rochester Scheels store today, I can now confirm that my guess was spot on.

I'm so thankful that Scheels took a chance on Rochester and added our town to their now 34 store locations.  April 11th, 2015 was opening day for Scheels in Rochester and the interactive experiences, sports equipment, clothings, shoes, and even Legos, have helped it become a popular shopping spot for many.

Just a heads up, Scheels has now added something new...and it is not for your workout routine.  The Rochester location is getting a Fuzziwig's Candy Factory!

What Is Fuzziwig's Candy Factory?

You may have found a Fuzziwig's Candy Factory while on vacation in another state.  There is a good chance you've also found a Fuzziwig's Candy Factory inside other Scheels stores.

Currently in Minnesota, the only Fuzziwig's Candy Factory is at the Scheels in Eden Prairie Center.  Based on the info shared on the Fuzziwig's Candy Factory website, you can get caramel apples, ice cream, and even chocolate there.

According to the Fuzziwig's Candy Factory website, they aim "to be the One-Stop-Shop for all your Candy, Sweets and Toy needs! Our stores are stocked with hundred of types of Candy, both bulk and packaged, as well as carefully curated selection of plush and toy items."

When I stopped by Scheels on Friday, the area for the new Fuzziwig's was still being worked on, but I did manage to get a few photos of the candy that was already out.  If you walk to the area near the bathrooms on the main floor, here are a few of the items you'll find...

The pizza box above was 3 ounces.  When I picked the box up that is in the photo below, the weight alone should give you a hint how much sugar is waiting to be consumed.
